July is one of my favorite times to take a short trip from Delhi. The weather is cool, the roads are green, and the hills feel calm after the summer rush. If you are also looking for a peaceful break, here are 10 amazing places near Delhi you can visit in July. I’ve added all the important details like distance, route, and my personal take on each place.

 

1. Manali


Overview:

July is perfect if you love green mountains and don’t mind light rain.

Delhi to Manali Distance:

Around 530 km

Delhi to Manali Route:

Delhi – Karnal – Mandi – Kullu – Manali


My Experience

Manali feels like magic during the rainy season. The Beas River is full, the trees are lush, and cafes are peaceful. I stayed near Old Manali and loved walking around in the misty mornings.

 

2. Mussoorie


Overview:

The weather stays cool and cloudy. A light jacket is enough.

Delhi to Mussoorie Distance:

Delhi to Mussoorie Route:

Delhi – Meerut – Dehradun – Mussoorie


My Experience

Mussoorie is great for a relaxed weekend. I enjoyed sipping tea on Mall Road while watching the clouds pass by. Kempty Falls is nice but try to go early to avoid the crowd.

 

3. Nainital


Nainital

Overview:

July brings soft rain and the lake looks even prettier.

My Experience

Boating in Naini Lake during light rain is something I’ll never forget. The fog adds charm to the hills. I also loved the view from Tiffin Top.

The city feels fresh, and there’s less crowd in July.

Delhi – Panipat – Ambala – Kalka – Shimla


My Experience

Shimla during monsoon is calm. I walked along Mall Road, had hot momos near Lakkar Bazaar, and enjoyed the quiet evenings at Christ Church.

Overview:

Quiet, peaceful, and great for a short break.

Delhi – Meerut – Bijnor – Kotdwar – Lansdowne


My Experience

This place is not touristy, which I really liked. It rained lightly when I went, and I just sat by Bhulla Lake with tea in hand. Simple and perfect.

Rishikesh

Overview:

Even though rafting is closed in July, the place is peaceful.

My Experience

Rishikesh feels different in monsoon. I attended the Ganga Aarti in the evening and did some yoga in the morning near the river. It’s great for mental peace.

My Experience

I stayed in a small homestay surrounded by pine trees. Walked to Monkey Point and had the best pakoras with chai. It’s slow and peaceful here.

Green views and less crowd than Nainital.

My Experience

Bhimtal is perfect if you want calm. The lake is lovely, and I enjoyed a simple boat ride without much noise around. Also tried fresh local food.

Chail

Overview:

Good for people who love quiet forest stays.

Delhi – Panipat – Ambala – Kalka – Kufri – Chail


My Experience

I stayed near the Chail Palace and woke up to bird sounds every morning. There’s not much to do, and that’s the best part. Just nature, silence, and fresh air.

My Experience

It’s a small place near Chandigarh. I went with friends for a picnic. There’s a lake and some hiking trails. Best for those who want a short, green break.
